Come on out of Mama's belly, come on out tonight
Come on out of Mama's belly, go and chase the light
Come on out of Mama's belly, we'll go and catch the stars
Come on out, introduce yourself, and show us who you are

Because we love you, and that's the reason why
You make the stars collide, illuminating all that's in the sky
In desperation we hold onto moments as they pass us by
We'll love you far beyond the day we die

It's humbling to hold a soul that's bigger than your dreams
When everything you thought you knew collapses at your knees
And suddenly you understand the meaning of complete
A stunning new reality, it seems

I, can see, that our efforts are in vain
Stopping hands on all our clocks won't make the sunshine do the same
It's impolite that time won't take the time to entertain
An adjustment that keeps everything the same

Because we love you, and that's the reason why
You make the stars collide, illuminating all that's in the sky
In desperation we hold onto moments as they pass us by
We'll love you far beyond the day we die

Koala hugs & belly rubs & stories late at night
Wobble knees & tiny things that fit your hands just right
Little explorations that ignite within your eyes
Imagination bigger than the sky

Because we love you, and that's the reason why
You make the stars collide, illuminating all that's in the sky
In desperation we hold onto moments as they pass us by
We'll love you far beyond the day we die

I, can see, that our efforts are in vain

Stopping hands on all our clocks won't make the sunshine do the same
It's impolite that time won't take the time to entertain
An adjustment that keeps everything the same

In High School I used to lock myself in my room and write. A LOT. You know, emo stuff. It was an excellent creative vehicle for me. I have high hopes of upping the frequency of my more serious writing. First step is to somehow calm down the squirrel in my brain. His name is restlessness.
